The Construction History Society kindly invited us to have a stand at their First Conference at Queens' College, Cambridge on 11 and 12 April 2014.

The conference gave us the opportunity to meet many CHS members and to recruit three new members to TATHS. We were able to hear some interesting lectures and to obtain a copy of the Conference Proceedings for the TATHS Library.

Our stand drew quite a lot of interest but we were amused to find the main attraction seemed to be a few boxes of rusty nails brought along by Peter Slaughter. The fact that one of the talks was on the subject of 'The British cut clasp nail' may have contributed to their appeal. TATHS can now rightly claim to have the two world experts on nails amongst our members as Chris How (the author of the above talk) was persuaded to take out a membership.
